pakistan is going through perhaps the most turbulent periods in its history. ostensibly unsurmoutable threats from multiple fronts internal as well as external are hovering over it like demociles sword. on the international theater, pakistan is being discredited as a safe heaven for transnational terrorists and blamed of duplicity in its commitment for nothing more than a proxy war or rather it is being forced to act as a mere cog for the great game of the global powers for vested interests in the name of a highly ironical narrative of war for perpetual peace. western media is hell bent on demonizing pakistan banking on stereotypes constructed by crusades in a wilful attempt to isolate it and provide the western public with a punching box to project thier ineptitudes on. on the internal front, it is going through unprecedented chaos and disintegration by irrational tussle between state institutions, incessant mud slanging of political parties with no cognizance of gravity of the situation, widening ethnic and sectarian gulfs and rising frustration of public to the point of falling apart.
the only hope in the whole story of desperation is rising awareness of the people of pakistan. they need to realize thier power and use it with romantic dedication for bringing about a thoroigh change in the corrupt, inefficient and parasitic power structures of our body-poltic. if the puplic continues its usual supine passivity, the disintegrating factors will panerate the roots of the country and the selfish politicians and opportunist beaurocrats will keep on adding fuel to the fire which is hovering over our country in order to break it apart into an insignificant tool in the hands of America in total dependence and submissiveness. the orthdox politicians dont have the guts to bring the country on tack because they are themselves symbols of status quo and supportive pillars of the current disintegrating system. so, enough with the hypocritical slogans of the parties playing in the hands of either establishment or US and time for turning new leafs in order to help steer pakistan out of quagemire of lethal problems like abject self abasement, corruption, mismanagement, sense of deprivation and the resultant perpatuation of extremism. if the pakistani public does not take cognizance of the gravity of situation and does not hit on the nail when it is hot, in a short time they will be nothing more than silent spectators to the even worsing conditions of law and order and the already staggering economy.
we are a great nation with immense potential to make a mark in the region as well as round the globe but it is possible only through honest and dedicated leadership both civil and military which can ensure internal and external security and transparency in the governace. short-sighted leaders who can percive nothing beyond the plastic surgery of forign aid and debt can not change the lot of our country. in order to achieve significance on global landscape and to bring prosperity to the people of pakistan, all the nation needs a united effort under a visionary, bold and fresh leadership that will reshape the pakistan according to the roadmap given by the founding fathers. the state of confusion, feelings of ineptitude and sense deprivation have magnified since 9\11 and the US game plan is unfolding itself towards catasrophic ending. this has been and is an immanant threat in the minds of pakistani people because they are observing the tactics of encircing pakistan.
but the pity is, all the major political players and state institutions are foolishly wrangling for securing power turning a deaf year to the escalating threats all around us. when the goverment and elite class succumbs to the national humiliation for self interests, the public which is the real owner of the country needs to come out and strive to save pakistan. the sooner the better. it is hightime for the educated segment of our society to participate actively in the politics in order to bring awareness to the ignorant majority of our country so that they can understand the sanctity of vote and come out of their traditional ways of voting. that seems to be the only constructve way to bring pakistan back on its track. otherwise, revolutions become indespensable when there is no hope for change through ballot box. the state institutions as well need to realize that crooked engineering of elections cant go on in the presence of hightened awareness of public through vibrant media and it is inevitably going to be counterproductive.
moreover, public as well as the government of pakistan needs to make is clear to the international gamers that instabilty in pakistan will be deadly injurious for not only the region but also that the whole globe can not help stand intact from instability in pakistan. and that it is need of the hour that if they are really serious in global peace, they have to support pakistan in its fight against destablizing forces. a sovereign and vibrant pakistan can go a long way in bringing about peace and prosperity in the region. those who are trying to sow the seeds of disintegration will have to suffer in despair because we are a united and homogezed nation notwithstanding some corrupt and separatist politicians who have no support at the grass root level and the apparant ethnic and linguistic fault lines cannot be exploited to sow the seeds of separatism.
traditional big parties have indeed lost their credibilty in the eyes of public and now even the sincere efforts made by them are ineffective because of trust deficit. therefore new leadership of the educated, patriotic and honest elements within pakistan is indispensable.
having seen all the major pakistani politicians, it has become quite obvious that no leader on the political landscape matches imran khan on the scale of will-power, honesty, dignity, far-sightednes and patriotic dedication. it would be better for pakistan's establishment to facilitate its emergence rather than putting obstacles in its way.
